Dark Light
Ok, not a fancy name but its all I could come up with. Not sure the name of this falls, or if it has a name, but its along Hwy120 in Yosemite west of Olmstead Point (seems to run only in the spring). I'm not too sure about the tree, I didn't like it too dark, but I tried lightening it and it look a bit strange. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about this, or about the image in general.

It's quite a nice composition as is dark. I would not lighten it. It's very abstract, so not surprising it feels strange.

West of Olmstead?! I don't know where that thing would be... Is it off the road or on a hike? Like betweed Olmstead and cranes flats turnoff? Near 10 lakes hike, or Porcupine?...

I'd put it in the run for best CA pic of the month :)

Very powerful image Greg, strong lines and powerful water. Its beautiful! What time of day were you shooting? It may be my monitor, but I'm seeing a little bit of gray/yellow cast in the downflow. Thanks for posting.

Hi Greg,

This ia really awesome! I love the high contast, specially the highlights. :toast:

The tree in this presentation seems a little odd to me. My suggestion would be to forget about extracting more detail from it; instead you might want to play up the darkness that is such a strong element of this photograph and darken the trunk so that it matches the rest of the scene.
