Damsel against the light

Inspired by some of the work on here, I got tempted into taking the first nervous steps in macro. I was trying to capture the translucency of the body of this blue-tailed damsel and get the hairs against the light. Maybe too ambitious a start ....

Comments welcome ..

Looks like a very good start to me! Nicely done. Tristan

Nicely done, I find the problem is that when you're taking the image the D' fly moves around the back of the stem. I like the fact you have captured the hairy details. One tip is to try and get these little guys as parallel to the censor as possible, something i've heard echo on here many times. So, If this is a start, I can't wait for things to come...!

Brilliant - very well done. I particularly like the natural colours in this shot.

Great shot, if only my first macros were this good! Nice light, good dof, all in all a very nice blue-tailed capture. Keep it up!

An excellent start to what can become quite addictive, I particularly like the way the down has be captured....
