NIce to see these off a wire and there would have been no hope of keeping the tail in focus , only point would be the apparent hunched posture of the bird.

this shows the colours off very well Major. Nicely captured.

Very punchy colours and a lovely smooth Bg Major - different from the normal swallow shot and very nice :toast:

Great shot - I don't think I've ever seen one perched on anything other than a wire. Super colours in this shot too.

Nice and punchy and contrasty. This looks a really sweet image and the turn of the head makes the image of course.

From a point of personal interest (I refer you to my other post about the D3) I am surprised that the bg is as noisy as it is (not VERY noise but noisier than I would have expected on this camera at 640). Did you boost the contrast at all or is it a consequence of sharpening do you think?

EDIT: Of course, it may well be my monitor

Thanks for your comments all.
Barrie I dont know what it is with D3 as yet. Had started to get to grips with D2Xs in processing but now thats all gone out of the window and I need to start again. Have not used any noise reduction but didnt think it looked too bad on my monitor.
Tom now this may be the hunchback of Swallows but dont forget its flown all those thousands of miles its bound to be looking a bit knackered. Even bigger smile.
