Apparently the stem in some newer models of Arca Swiss Ball Heads is made in 2 pieces cemented together. If subjected to torsional forces it is liable to twist and may even come apart possibly killing your camera and lens.
I'm very good at breaking gear on my own, and I don't need extra help from poor design. If I had bought it, you could count on one thing- I would delight in seeing how big a splash it made when thrown far out in the ocean in front of my house.

It looks like the Arca Swiss Z 1 users should check the stems on their heads.
