I had a very enjoyable morning looking for butterfly subjects with Matt Cole today and although there wasn't a lot about we found a few of these. This my first serious effort with the Sig 180 and I am most impressed with it. This macro game is not easy and I already have a list of kit problems to overcome not to mention that my 'spotless' sensor appears to resemble the inside of a vacuum cleaner bag now that I have stopped the lens down past f8 for the first time.
I would have liked a cleaner bg, but those shots were all too soft thanks to the stiff breeze that sprang up as soon as we found some half decent subjects.
C&C welcome
Eric
This is a very nice start. and you have chose a stunning lens.
One tip if your using very slow shutter speeds and the wind conditions are good. And thats to us Mirror lock up. Ho and make sure you turn it back of when you've finished your macro session. Can't beleive the amount of times I've left mine on, gone out on another day spent ages looking for that shot and totally ruined it, as mirror lock up kicked in when I pressed the shutter button
All the best with the macro look forward to seeing more.
Welcome to the world of macro - and a pretty good start too. B/G is a little busy but it's a nice 'fly and comp works well so I'm looking forward to some more!!
