Here are a few photos (see link below) that I took today during a climb/ski descent of Dead Dog Couloir (the thin line of snow/ice that goes straight up the side of Torreys Peak. The couloir itself was between 40 and 50 degrees and tops out just below the summit of Torreys (14,267').
I'd be interested to hear what you think about the last photo. If you look closely, there are trails from blowing corn snow off of the ridge. I can't decide if it adds to or distracts from the image.
Great job, Scott! The one posted here is my fave. Impressive amount of snow hanging on to that face of Grays/Torreys. I see those streaks you're talking about. I guess my problem with them is, unless you explain what they are to anyone who happens to view the image, they'll likely think it's a flaw. Tough call.
Excellent variety and quality in those shots, Scott; I particularly like the first one. The snow trails are too distracting, imo; it's just not clear what they are, which could be problematic to most viewers. I don't know how hard it would be to clean them up, but definitely worth a go at it.
Kudos! Very impressive; I have to agree with Stan on the sunset image and the streaks.

Fantastic images, Scott! I particularly like the second (#258) one on your website.
Regarding the streaks, I have to agree with Rick – they are a bit distracting from the overall image. My first impression was that it is snowing and these streaks are snowflakes in front of the camera.

Really cool, Scott. The last one really shows how steep the couloir is, which makes it the most effective to me. The streaks are great, fills in the blue a bit.

Your adventure shots are really good these days!

Regarding the streaks, the rest of the image doesn't look too "blustery" ... I'd remove them. It's buttery blue sky, just blur it all out.
