I was very pleased to get this image, believe it or not almost a first for me. Where I live I am on the side of what is called the Great Lines, which is a large chalk hill near the Dockyards that is full of tunnels and defences of a Napoleonic Fort. It used to be very popular with walkers and always had a good display of these, along with Chalkhill Blue and many other species.
Sadly the area has been taken over by the large drink and drugs brigade and very few people walk for pleasure any more and you certainly do not take expensive camera gear with you... The good news is that the local council are talking about turning some of it into a local nature reserve which hopefully will be properly managed and policed and with any luck will provide photographic opportunities again.
I digress, taken at a little known spot of the beaten track of one of my local reserves, whilst checking out a large population of Common Spotted Orchids.
All the best ( I will be missing for a few days) so will catch up soon.
Fine capture indeed Phil, you might like to check out the other well known reserve near you, plenty of Commons and CH Blues to be seen there.. Just to keep you busy until they sort out the site closer to home. A classic 'PH' image, very sharp details and expertly executed.
Brett.
Ps. Of to Honduras tomorrow and look forward to catching up on my return..

Its a sad fact that you do have to think about wher you might go with camera gear.
