Downy Emerald Dragonfly
Emerald Dragonflies are difficult species to spot but some places can be excellent for them. This shot was taken in the early morning in Glen Affric which is a beautiful place

Canon 1D MK11, 180mm Lens, F9, 1/100, ISO 200

A quick comment before dissappearing..

Very Nice Danny, lucky to get one perched, ours down here seem to be on the wing all the time, great perch, bg and warm light.

What a beautiful mini beast and perch, lovely shot. To think I were only 80 miles from these a couple of weeks ago, oh well, wonderful place Scotland the lichen diversity is tremendous alone.

Looks mighty fine to my eye Danny, although i feel the top of the stem draws my eye away from the creature slightly.

I have to agree with Alan, and maybe if that top bit of lichen was even darkened a bit ?
