The greatest news of all is that Melissa and I are going to work through our issues. I did NOT expect things to move this quickly. Perhaps I jumped the gun with my previous post. I can't help but think that all the warm thoughts and prayers offered by my NPN friends had more than a little something to do with a positive and quick resolution. You are truly a remarkable group of people and I hope to be able to repay the generosity you've exhibited. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
The second bit of good news is that I landed my first cover! Not surprisingly, it is a photo of Melissa on one of our many adventures together. I'm sure we have dozens of new adventures to experience and I hope this is the first of many covers to come.
Congratulations on both counts! Covers are nice Bret but having our personal lives in order makes life enjoyable and is invaluable. Wishing you all the best as you work through things with Melissa.
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. ‘

It's an omen - like The Lovely Donna and I, the two of you are destined to share life's journey together!
I'm working in MA and living in NH for the last seven months. Donna is still on Long Island until we sell the house. After 30 years of marriage, neither of us really mind it.

Congratulations on both counts. I was on a photo trip in your neck of the woods and missed your previous post. I'm so glad things worked out, and congrats on the cover, beautiful image.

Congratulations, Bret, both on the cover and beginning to work things out.
Really welcome news Bret, all the way around. I'd say it's time the two of you went looking for cover #2 and #3.

Congratulations all around! I'm glad things have taken a turn for the better. I've been married about 22 years (or is it 21 or 23? ), and one thing I've learned is to always make some time every day for my wife. It is easy to get caught up in the every day things and not pay attention, and suddenly people seem to drift apart. You have to keep your priorites straight, I think. There is a balance.

Congrats on both Bret. Photography should always take a back seat to the loved ones in your life.

Thank you for all the congrats and well wishes, folks. This entire debacle caused me to re-think many things, one of which was my priorities. Priority #1: My marriage. Everything else takes a backseat to that.
Bret! What great news to wake up to!! Wow, THREE hoooorraaaahhhss for rounding a big bend in your lives together, the cover! and priorities in order. Man, you rock! I'm so happy to hear this! and so happy for you!

That certainly is great news - I was pullin' for ya Bret. You probably don't need pointers, esp. from me - but always keep the romance alive! And that 'yours and mine' is pretty darn cool.
Bret, I saw your post this morning and it made my day! Not only is your cover photo outstanding but hearing that you and Melissa are working things out is the best! Congratulations on both counts and I know from experience that when you go through such trials as yours the outcome will make both of you and your marriage better. Congrats!

Congratulations on all the good news!
P.S. You can always return the favor by showing us all your secret spots when we're out around Moab.
Way to go.
