Have any of you used the new Aperture 2 software from Apple? I am currently using PS elements 4. And the Aperture 2 looks to be pretty user friendly when it comes to work-flow, which is something that I struggle with. It also seems to be fairly powerful when it comes to editing. Do you know how the RAW conversion is compared to PS. It also says it will read .psd files, so I'm thinking transferring my photos should not be a big issue. I know CS3 is the flagship, but at less then 1/3 the cost Aperture 2 seems to have all the necessary features.

Any opinions appreciated,

Thanks.

I'm a big fan of A2. As a workflow tool, it's terrific. It's RAW management is at least as good as CS3's, maybe better. But it is not a substitute for PS. No layers for one thing, and it's image tools are a pale shadow of PS's. A few of the tools ARs quite good, but A2 isn't a photo manipulation suite. The good news is it integrates nicely with PS and most any editor; the bad news is you need that other editor.

James,

I'm agreeing with what Jim just wrote.
