One from last weekend, these I find away from the pools in this sort of veg, quite happy with the shallow DOF.

I like the context setting but not sure whether it just competes a bit too much with the main subject. Razor sharp as always! :toast:

Hi Tim,

Stunning image! Awesome detail and tack sharp! Was it taken with the 300mm f/4 Lens or the f/2.8?

Hi Paul,
This was with the 300mm 2.8, a colleague was using my F/4 if I had this one I could have got it without the TC (minimum focusing 1.5 instead of 2.2m), but who cares its sharp as tac anyways. Hope you're enjoying your F/4, I'll be shooting with it this weekend most likely.

No nits at all Tim - lovely image. I rather like the background. 300 and 1.7 make an excellent combo for dragonflies, I find.

Superb focus on the subject, I agree the BG is slight distracting but it does give an idea of the environment.Very, very nice.

I actually like the bg on this one Tim but I think I would prefer to lose a little from the bottom, just to give the impression that the DF has room to fly into.

Great looking Specimen.
