Backyard Columbine
Taken three weeks ago in my backyard on a perfectly still early morning. Cropped top and cleaned up some bg areas for this portrait. No dewdrops like your cover shot Bill but it's one of my better efforts on this "sail" of a flower.

5D, 100-400L @ 160 mm, 0.3 @ f/16, MF, ISO 400, polarizer

No dewdrops needed here, Wayne. Beautiful color, very sharp, and a bloom in its prime...what more could you ask for?

I agree with William. Nothing wrong with it.

Great shot Wayne. The black bg is the perfect offset for the beautiful colors of the bloom. I would print and hang this one...
I've been trying to shoot some simple Day Lillies is our yard - if the wind keeps blowing like it has been, I will have to travel to the next state just to shoot my own flowers...

I finally have some native Ozarks columbine in my yard, and hope to have some shots of them next spring. Nice job on this one, Wayne - great detail.

Wow, Wayne, that is a great speciman and you have captured it perfectly. The DOF is really nice throughout the frame.

Great shot Wayne! Seems a bit blue to me but I haven't calibrated in a while and I think my monitor is about to bite it.

Love it Wayne! I've tried off and on for a few years to get one like this and haven't yet. Maybe next year.
