Or was it last night? I was there from 8pm until 7am making a series of 5-30 minute exposures. (I can't let Bill have all the fun.) The moon, even at half full, was brilliant. But holy cow when it went down, it got dark in a hurry...

Tim this is really cool. Did you paint the rocks with light or is that moonlight?

It is a little of both, or actually all three if you count natural sunshine...

Looks great to me! I think painting with light is an art in itself. Everytime I've tried it, there were areas underexposed and others blown out. I remember you mentioning a special light made for this sort of application, but was kinda pricey (hummm...anything in photography NOT pricey?). If I could sell a few more prints, maybe the boss lady might let me get one. Great time of year to practice using one!

BTW, for all the bear lovers out there - a friend of mine from Hot Springs was hiking in the Ouachitas one morning a week or so ago, and had a close call with a mama bear. Seems she went after one of his dogs first, then the other one, then came after my buddy. She stopped about six feet away and decided to turn around. A little further down the trail he heard a noise off to the side and found out it was a cub. So I guess bears can be pretty fiesty when you get between a mama and her cubs. Just a little food for thought next time you're walking down the trail in some deep dark woods...
