Work took me to Sacramento for two separate trips in the last month, and I managed to get in a day at Yosemite and a couple of hours at Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe. Both places are extraordinarily beautiful, and it's a shame I couldn't spend more time there. Here are a few from the trip, and thanks for looking.
That first one is unbelievably good!
The frozen in time action in the rushing water, along with the golden reflections, Lake Tahoe in the background, a beautiful sky and even a nice 'sun star', all combine to make this a truly excellent image. A real joy to view!
The b&w one doesn't grab me quite as much (..admittedly, that first shot is a hard act for any image to follow!). How did you go about the conversion?
John, I was doing some channel curves and blending for a color version and decided to just go with a b/w. This is a combination of probably the red and blue channels. I did a Dan Margulis overlay blend in an attempt to keep some detail in the water prior to working with the curves and blending.

Pretty nice so far though Chad. Check your file size. Its strict about the 200K limit.
