Apologies if I'm boring you guys with all my Damsel shots lately (more to come still:razz:), but I just can't resist photographing them! I do try to present them in a slightly different way each time. Let me know if this one works for you.

Love it !!
More central with a tighter crop maybe but I like this !
That's the lens I am going for.

A fine shot Des and a different point of view  As John says maybe it would benifit from a tighter crop

Yes, I definitely like it Des. The buttercup is just sharp enough to set the scene and makes a good bg for the damsel. It also helps pull the eye straight to the insect. Very nice.

a nice shot Des, a slight shame there appears to be a 2nd buttercup in the background but a nice viewpoint of this chap all the same.

The comp makes the shot very interesting Des - never a bad thing :wavey:

I agree with Matt over the BG buttercup, I think the image would be better off without it, and overall the image might benefit from a drop in contrast, a slight lift in brightness and a small boost in saturation especially in the greens.

A nice PoV :wavey: :wavey:

OK guys, taking on board everyone's suggestions, here's the brighter, more saturated (just left it as is from NX - which I normally desaturate afterwards), slightly greener and more central (pretty much full frame - that's how I took it in the first instance).

I must say it does look better to me. I've left the Buttercup in beacuse a) can't/don't know how to remove it and b) I actually think it adds a little something to the picture. Tell us what you think.
