I am new to HDR and have had lots of sucess with static scenes. What I would like to do now is add a moving subject but am not sure of the best way. An example would be someone playing on a beach. I can expose for the person and then get them to leave the picture and shoot a few more frames without them, exposing for different areas. The only thing I can think of is creating an HDR photo by combining all the shots without the person and then using photoshop to insert the subject. Is there a better way?
Check out Russell Brown's video tutorial titled 'CS3: Auto-Align and Auto-Blend Layers' and see if that presents a solution.

If the dynamic range is not exceedingly large, you may be successful by processing a single RAW file twice (once for the shadows, once for the highlights), and combine them afterwards. However, the increase in dynamic range won't be as big as what's possible with multiple exposures.
