Hey folks,

Shameless self pat on the back... but I just wanted to share. Just found out I received a Silver Award and an HM at my local Alameda County Fair. There were over 600 entries in Photography (all categories) with a Best of Show, Best of Class, (14) Silvers and (15)HM's. All four prints entered were accepted for display during the fair. Now, I hope one of them sells!

And I wanted to give some thanks to folks at NPN for helping me decide what to enter - in a round about way. The image posted a couple of weeks ago, "Big Leaf Maple and Granite"received a Silver and "You're drowning me" got the honorable mention. So thanks for all your comments and feedback!!! And NO - the prints were NOT framed in gold...

I'm sorry that I haven't been commenting much as of late.... getting the prints ready for the fair AND I've emersed myself in the HTML dungeon by beginning to re-build my website. Not nearly ready to publish. And anyone who writes their own website knows what a tedious and time-consuming job it is... grrr.

Anyway, just thought I would drop a note and share my good news.
Hopefully, I'll be back commenting and posting again soon.

Congrats Lon...well deserved awards no doubt. I look forward to seeing your new website, I'm going through the same thing at the moment, and the process can seem a bit overwhelming at times. Best of luck!

Congratulations Lon and best of luck selling some works at your big local fair. Hand coding one's site in HTML gives one all the control into the future despite the frustrating standards documentation morass to wade through.

Good for you, Lon! Best of luck on the sales front as well. I don't write code, but I'm in the middle of a major website overhaul that includes lots of new images, so I totally know what you mean with the "tedious" and the "time-consuming". Keep up the good work.

Terrific, Lon! There's no such thing as a small peanut when it comes to recognition of your work, so live it up. May there be many more!

Congratulations Lon! I am not surprised, your work is significant!
Also respect for that HTML-work. I did that once a few years ago, never managed to reach a decent level and finally decided that it takes too much time and energy to learn properly...

Hey, Lon! Congratulations. Thanks for telling us the great news.

My sympathies on the website/html. I've never been brave enough to tackle it. Another reason to be grateful for Jim, Donna and NPN!
