The prior photo I posted from Bandon was taken in the morning, and this was taken the evening prior. I had hoped for a blazing sunset, but the clouds moved in at the end of the day and it didn’t work out. However, as the sun was near setting, the clouds developed an odd lighting, illuminated from above rather than below.

Sweet shot, John - I'm packing to leave tomorrow to the south coast. I will be in Bandon two days during next week. I hope I find some flowers then - these really make the image!

I really like the sky, it seems to match the flowers, nicely seen!

Yes, that spackled sky matches the flowers nicely John.

This is really nice, John. Not an in-your-face sunset, but the lighting is still dramatic, and as David said, complements the flowers nicely. As a matter of personal tastes, I might go for a little more contrast throughout, but, as presented, it's very compelling.

I really like the comp and the feeling of the shot. I'm not sure how to explain... I think if the flowers could "pop" more.. have more color or something to make them stand out more it would make this even better.

How gorgeous is that! It's so warm and mellow with a lovely harmony throughout. No, not the brilliant sunsent, but still a lot of subtle drama going on.

Wow John,

This is one my favorite shots you have taken and posted. It looks great! And I am sure that a lot of the subtle detail will look much more dramatic in larger print. Great Job! The wildflowers, the sky, the rocks, the ocean and colors just come together here. Where do I buy one?

Very nice shot John. I like how the sky and flowers compliment each other, neither is overpowering :toast:
