Icterine Warbler
Thanks for all your nice comments on my last post! I was quite surprised to hear how scarce Cuckoos are in the UK. In Denmark they are still pretty common, but they are just very shy.

Here is another bird I guess you don't see too often in the UK. Icterine Warblers are common here, but rather reluctant to get out in the open. This is the first time I had some luck with the specie.

Helge that is a brilliant shot of an otherwise elusive bird well done. :toast: :toast:

Hi Helge,

This is a lovely shot, and it's great to catch it whilst singing. If I'm being really picky, it's a shame the perch is so thick, but it's a minor nit, and out of your control.

Cheers,

Dan.

Nice comp, tack sharp and a rather sumptuous BG Helge - and a really pretty-looking subject aswell :toast:

I can see what Daniel means, but to be honest the perch doesn't bother me at all.

I don't think it gets much better than this :wavey:

Lovely shot Helge.
To be really critical I reckon the bird could do to be a tiny bit left to get the eye at least in the centre.Difficult with this kind of pose I know. No big deal. Great picture.

Super shot Helge. Nice to see the detail of the bill hairs too.

Its a great shot of an Icky and as you say nice to get one out in the open. :toast:
I too find the branch a bit on the large size but you cant have everything and if it were mine I would be more than happy with it. :toast:

I always love the "too thick stick" debates on here, but I for one would be more than happy with this in my collection.

No nits here either, spot-on comp, I like the way the birds pose is mimicked by, and held within, the OOF branch in the background. Lovely!

Wonderfully detailed image. I've never seen one of these in the flesh, but this must be the next best thing.

I like it Helge, no nits from me.
One can see the shallow DOF this wonderful lens has at 5,6.
Our tools are really almost perfect.
