Talking Horned Toad
He kind of looks like he's got something to say, doesn't he.

Got this out at the Pawnee Grasslands, which by the way, should have
some great cactus blooms by next week.

Thanks for looking.

Cool! This is a Short Horned lizard (Phrynosoma hernadesi) and is not too commonly seen.

Great catch - I've never seen one of these guys in all my travels on the plains. BTW - I'm guessing the cacti are blooming right now, based on what I saw at RMA last night. They don't last long, and the Pawnee NG display is outrageous.

Very cool. I too have never seen one of these in my travels to the grasslands. Nice find!

Cool little feller. Nicely shot.

We used to see these alot on my in-law's ranches, but have seen them much less often in the last 10 years or so. :frown:

Nice shot. I have never seen one of these in the wild.

Great pose, and nice isolation of the head against the grass. I've only ever seen one and counted myself lucky, and the results weren't nearly as good as this.

Very cool shot!. I saw one of these for the first time out at the Pawnee Buttes a week or so ago, they blend into the environment VERY well, so are hard to spot!.
