Common Sandpiper
1D2N, 600mm f4 is x1.4 TC, 1/800s, f7.1, iso 200.

Taken on North Uist late evening. This was on a small lochan. I saw a few bundles of fluff at the periphery, which were chicks. Both parents were patrolling the lochan and one sat on a rock in the middle most of the time. The chicks very quickly disappeared and I didn't manage an image. The parents were't a bad substitute though!

Lovely pose and good composition on this one Ian. I find the light and dark bands on the background near the birds head a little bit distracting but that's just a minor nit for me.

Looks OK to me .Tiny nit would be hidden feet but you can't do much about that.

Super shot Ian, well detailed and nicely timed!!

Like the angled rock, and a fine comp into the bargain :toast:
