It's a long slow hot week

This is the week containing the longest day of the year and it rather looks as though most of us are succumbing to the heat of the summer.

Barbara is using Blanket flowers to portray a symbolic solstice.

Pat has recalled a memory of hauling Alfalfa during long summer days.

And I recalled collecting Fireflies during late June nights.

Go back in time ... Do you have a favorite memory from the longest day of the year, or, better still, what can you capture this week that smacks of long days? Long shadows, very early morning light, late twilight. Those are some ideas that come to mind.

Happy shooting.

My wife and I used to backpack up into the Valley of the Ten Peaks just up from Moraine Lake, stay a night or two and then exit through Sentinel Pass and out via Lake Louise.

All packpacking gear was mail-ordered from such places as Sierra Designs and a few others. Our stove was a Svea 123.

Is there anything better? The road into Moraine Lake was gravel in those days.

That's great Bill, so all you need to do right now is create an image that represents that trip on the first day of Summer  Then you can post it on the Weekly Challenge :jump:
