Hi all
Went out playing with my local hare's yesterday morning and, after a fruitless two hours of lying in the mud, finally had this fella come over to check me out. After a few minutes he decided I wasn't that interesting and returned to the rest of his gang.
Compositionally I was probably about two foot too close - thems the breaks
Canon 1d3 500mm with 1.4x, f7.1 @ 1/1000,iso 250, full frame, gitzo tripod, wimberley head, under camo netting, granny smith for snack
great shot, love the tongue, just a thought i may be wrong but if 2feet to close could you not remove the 1.4x???

Always nice to have a bit of tongue... Fabulous image of one of my favourite animals. I like the close compact composition of this photograph. Its all about the face and the expression. I think, turning the camera would have given you more room, but like this as is.

You're right Andy, taking of the 1.4x would have made for a better picture, but with my sausage fingers there's no way I could've done it without scaring the bejesus out of him!!!
Very amusing. I've never seen a picture of a hare showing its tongue before. Even without it the shot would be a good one, though on my screen it looks as if it could do with a little more sharpening.
