I am trying to make some plans for summer vacation in Colorado and I would really like to try to photograph some wild horses. I understand there are 4 different herds in Colorado. Does anyone have any suggestions or information on good places to go as well as the accesability of these herds to photographers? Any information/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Debbie, Little Book Cliffs Wild Horse Range is a good p[lace for wild horses. There are several access points. My wife and I did a short backpack in April from Cameo, which is the powerplant just east of Palisade. You are almost guaranteed horse sightings in Coal Creek Canyon. It will be VERY hot in summer, though. Contact the Grand Junction BLM @ (970) 244-3000.

Thanks for the information. I am definitely going to check them out. It's been around 110 here already. I'll take my chances up there. At least there should be some green, right?
