I saw this sunfish on her nest and decided to see how a polarizer would work to reduce the reflections. I wanted to include some habitat so I put the nest in the lower half and some of the surrounding weeds at the top. These sunfish work hard to open a nest and then defend it from all intruders.
Fun catch Ken...the sunfish almost looks like it's floating in the air due to the clarity. Good eye and creative idea. I'd personally like to see the black point set darker. Though this is undoubtedly a quite natural rendering, it feels a bit washed out as-is. My vote goes for higher contrast.
I'm impressed! I've been trying to get some fish photos this summer and am having a lot of difficulty finding water that isn't the color of chocolate milk...

I agree with Joel on the contrast, Ken. And still, this is a wonderful habitat shot. Like Tim, I'm jealous of your clear water.
