Crab spider demise.
Redstart with crab spider.
One from last week. Another "clone or not" nightmare.
Leaf or no leaf ? That is the question.
D200 Sigma 100-300mm.
Hide etc.

Nice male shots to follow.

Cheers

A nice shot of an attractive species. I like the viewpooint with the tail feathers showing so clearly.
Personally I don't mind the leaves and think they perhaps add to the overall image. The scene might look a bit empty without them, having now seen the image with them included.
Only nit is there appears to be a bit of blotchiness in the background on either side of the bird's head and neck area.

No nightmare here - leave the foliage as it offsets the wire very nicely. Anyway, I didn't notice either as I was so busy looking at a fantastic subject.

Thanks again. In fact the birch twig blew down for some reason and got caught in the wire. I could'nt really get out of the hide without some one relieving me so it had to stay. That's the golden rule never leave a hide whilst the birds are there if you are on your own. Pity the heads not real sharp but I thought its nice to see the tail in focus !!
