Reflective Heron
Another image of a favourite bird. It was nice to get a full reflection in the shot.

Yes, I'd be more than happy with this if it were mine. Great shot!

Very nice capture Robert - nice that you've got the full reflection :wavey:

The OoF reeds might bother some folk but not me - an all round nice pleasing image

I like it.

I like theoof reeds and the pose etc. etc.

If it 'were' mine I might be tempted (or maybe not) to crop a tad less close to the bird/reflection.

Really nice detail - I like it. Reeds ok for me as the business end of the heron is clear.

Beautiful image, lots of detail, colours are good as is the reflection. Reeds no problem, shows it as it is.

Slightly less crop would be better, but it's a fine image none the less!

Good one Robert. I missed this earlier. I think the reeds make the whole thing gell.
Like it.

A fine result and the reflection adds an extra dimension. :toast:

There one of my favorite subjects, I always find it hard to get full reflection shots of them. Really nice shot.

Its fine for me too... if it is cropped (you don't say) a bit more room would certainly be nice.

Thanks all for your comments. As for cropping, this is full frame with just a little bit taken off the RHS to balance the composition so unable to give more room top or bottom. As we all know, you just never seem to have the right lens on when something happens. I'm beginning to wonder about the merits of the Sigma 300-800 (but then I reckon my back will give way).
Also with autofocus cameras I find I am sometimes a bit lazy and use centre point a lot. If the subject is at all tight in the frame then I often end up losing the reflection. I had to make a conscious effort to manually focus on this one.
