Demoiselle (and re-post)

A recently taken male Banded Demoiselle, one of our most attractive damsels in my opinion.

Canon 400D with Sigma 150mm macro lens.

f7.1, 1/80sec, ISO 400.

All C+C appreciated.

You've caught it in some nice light - the perch is suitably fine and the BG looks nice

I might be tempted to take a bit off the left, and if I could have a bit more on the right I'd go for that too - BUT it's a mighty fine image

A super shot Matt but I agree with Andy Astbury on possible improvement to the layout. Loads of interest in the perch and BG too and the lighting is excellent.

many thanks for the comments. I agree about the composition, how does this one look? I've taken a bit off the left and added a bit on the right. It's only a subtle difference but I think it does look better.

That's very nice - I can never seem to get demoiselles in this kind of pose. Absolutely spot-on.

Very nice shot, Matt. I've only managed to get these guys in the horizontal!

I'd be tempted to take a bit more off the left side, as it's still a little right heavy to my eye (it's those fantastic wings!)
