The comments on my original post led me to agree that it was low contrast, i.e. washed out, and could use some work. I tried to remedy it in Adobe RAW and was challenged by tryng to pull detail and contrast out of a low contrast image. An e-mail to Joel Truckenbrod soon found us having breakfast in St. Cloud while working with the image (and a few other images). I thank Joel for a great lesson on using Adobe RAW and Photoshop. He is truly talented and a nice guy too.

The image looks much better, Ken! Instead of adjusting contrast, have you ever tried Selective Color?
I find the results much more satisfying than Contrast and/or Curves.
