Big Basin 2
Thanks for the comments on the first Big Basin pic. The only real foreground feature is the old corral at the base of the tall peak. I'm guessing it is at least 1/4 mile away from this point. Which of the 2 pics do you prefer? Thanks for looking, C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Hi Rob, of the two I like this one the most, the wide openness, appeals to me in this image. When I think of Kansas it's usually fields of wheat, not a scenic such as this. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice, Rob. I think I like this one better because of the corral and what looks like a, oh my gosh, windmill! I kept an eye out for a good one last week, but most were in pretty bad shape, or had some other issue that prevented me from shooting. I'll bet there would be some great shots for the taking a little closer in. Thanks for sharing!

If forced to pick one, I'd go with this one, though the first was nice. The big hill behind the corral provides more of a resting spot for the eye. The corral itself give this a sense of scale. I didn't realize how tall the sides of the basin were from looking at the first. Thanks for sharing Rob.

Thanks for the input. I agree that this one is a bit stronger than the first one.

Nice shot Rob. You captured this grand space very well. The clouds really treated you well here. I really like the colors and textures coming from the hills. Well done.

I liked the color of the sky better in the first one, but this one has more interest in the FG.
