You did a very fine job Phillip.
The bird is from beak tho feet perfect in DOF.
Great detail around the breastfeathers and the head.

I like it Philip but ideally would have prefered the bird a bit further towards the top right corner.
I've obviously no idea on how the shot came about so this may be easier said than done if it was a fleeting oppurtunity.
Nice pose, colour and backdrop.

Hi Justin that would be possible as I cropped about an inch from the bottom and half an inch from the top, what you can't see is it just landing there just before it pops in to its nest site which is in the bottom left-hand corner.

I position my portable hide so I could get the best angle with the lighting conditions, the male always called just before as it was sitting in a branch to the left-hand side higher up then landed for one or two seconds before shooting into the nest, I do have some with a lot more room around them as I took some with just the straight 500 as well.

Phil.

Ps I took about 800 images in a round 7 hours.

Hello Phil

Only 800 shots in 7 hours are you slowing down my friend   . Great shot of a real beauty and one which you sadly don't see too many of these days. Great stuff.

Hi Phillip

Great shot, the only change I would make would be to consider cloning out the twig in the top right corner

Wish it were mine!

Lovely, I'd lose the top right twig too, but thats such a minor point.

Fab detail Phil, only suggestion is the twig which has already been mentioned.

Seems like this guy was pretty busy for you to get that many shots if he only alighted for a second or so each time!
