Sweet Light On The Dunes
Ok...hardly an original comp, but this trip the Dunes was just a quick layover as Tami and I escorted some friends to Denver for a Rockies game. I was actually cooking brats at the Sand Dunes Lodge when I shot this. Too bad there wasn't any lightning associated with this particular storm. That would've really made the shot!

That is some awesome light! Wonderful colors

A great take on a classic composition, but your processing looks a bit heavy handed here.

Congratulations on getting married! How did the ceremony go?

Excellent light on this one. The white haze over the left side looks a little strange, but its not a major issue.

Great layers and fantastic light.

Ah yes, the dunes, i remember that place. I like the 3 layered comp here, Guy, very nice. It does seem a bit heavy-processed for a photo, although it makes it look more like a painting which is kind of attractive in its own way.

Really nice definition of the 3 layers!. Sweet light for sure; looks slightly over-processed, or perhaps that is how it was - I do like the painting like look as Stan mentioned!.

You're right, that was sweet light. I love the depth and colors.

Cool shot. The over-processing doesn't bother me as much as the light haze on the left. I think if you could clean that up this would work better.

Thanks for weighing in everybody. I was actually going for a bit more of a painterly look on this. While I'm pretty happy with the end result, I know its probably not for everyone.
