B+W MRC UV filter question

I wonder if the new B+W MRC Fpro UV filter I bought is genuine.

If someone has one recent, I would appreciate if they look at
it, especially if it's a 67mm or 72mm and bought at a reputable
store (mine was not so reputable):

- What color is the reflection of say a lightbulb off of the filter?
Is it yellowish, or bluish? (i looked at twisty power efficient light bulbs)
- Where are the markings on it, and what color?
Are there both marking on the face of the ring and the side of the
ring, or just the side?

The new one I got has a yellowish reflection, and is labelled in
gold on its side:
67 010 UV Haze MRC 1x B+W MADE IN GERMANY F-PRO

My older one has more a blueish reflection, and is labelled:
face, in white: B+W 58 010 UV-Haze 1x mRC
side, in gold: MADE IN GERMANY F-PRO B+W

Note both could be legit, just that smaller 58mm filter might have prints on side and face.

Thanks.

Dan,

You might want to wander up to Keeble and Schucat in Palo Alto and take the filter in question with you. I am sure they would let you compare yours to a new one, or they may be able to tell if the filter you have is a true B&W.

It is also posible that Schneider (the maker of B&W) changed the coating for better performance. If you shoot with the filter, see if you like the results. If so, you're good to go.
