I am wanting to set up an area to my website where my clients can log in and see their images. Kinda like a private viewing area, and it will also include an order form for them to place their order.

What I would prefer (if possible) is to just have one spot to type a login and depending on what is typed.... it sends you to the correct page.

Is this possible? How would you do it... I am using dreamweaver 4

Thanks

Two ways come to mind off the top of my head, neither very trivial. First, if your site is running on apache you can set up in an .htaccess and htpasswd for the directory and whenever the page is loaded users are prompted for valid username and password (I believe this way users will be prompted every time they try to access something in the directory). Alternatively, it your site has php installed (or an alternative server side scripting language) you can hardcode the username and password and access/deny that way. Create a login/verification page and check that way...once users are logged in a cookie can be placed in their browser that allow sessions/login times. The first method is widely published online, the second not so widely published. But, as I said, neither is very trivial.

Kevin,
if you have php and mysql support on your server you could use a precooked script like this
Or just google php login scripts or php member systems and you'll find a bunch, some of them free
