I am preparing my trip to Canada (Montreal, Banff and Jasper) and I wonder if I will find some difficulties on buying film in Montreal. I have about 15 rolls at home but I am sure I will need more once there. As my wife went to Orlando last year and did not find either Velvia or Provia there and a friend in UK told me that he also find difficult to find slide film, I would like to know what is the situation in Canada. I will get also the D70 of my wife, but to tell you the truth I still prefer film and my F100 (Am I living in Jurassic Park?). Thanks a lot for any information!

Best regards,

Agustin

I know of a Simon's Camera from a few years ago. I had to look them up on the web and they are still there. Give them a call or email to see what they stock.

As the resident Montrealer on NPN, I think I should chip in here

Try Photo Service Ltee (http://www.photoservice.com), and L.L.Lozeau (http://www.lozeau.com). They've always had Provia, Velvia and Astia with them.

Well, I am almost ready for my trip!. Thanks a lot for the information. I wrote Lozeau and Photo Service and both still have Velvia and Provia, but Simons not. I am rather tempted to buy a D300 there to complement my F100. I love my F100 but sometimes I find that the 1.5 factor provided by digitals would be nice for wildlife photography. In my country the price of D300 is about 3000 US dollars! So, I would probably test one in Montreal before moving for a week to Banff and Jasper...
Once again, thanks for the information!

If you are to buy a D300, you are most likely to get a better price at the camera store in Calgary (http://thecamerastore.com).
