Dalles Mt. Road - Spring fades into Summer
Still some scattered wildflowers around the ranch, particularly near the barns. The sky couldn't decide what it wanted to do, alternating between rain and clearing.
F20, 1/60 at 40mm.
Suggestions for improvement welcomed.

Fantastic clouds and a great sky. Add the flowers and you have a pretty sweet scene.

As far as what you could have tried while shooting... the road isn't doing you any favors; a lower perspective to hide the road would have been a worthwhile experiment. If the light was coming and going, a shot with the flowers in sun and the middleground in shadow would have showcased the flowers and mountain more, but that's a matter of luck or good fortune.

As far as post-processing, the contrast feels a bit odd here - very high contrast in the lower 1/3, and much less above. The adjustments down low may have caused you to lose detail in the yellows, and a little in the reds.

Great comp, Larry. The flowers look a bit hot to me.

This scene certainly does tell the story of the transition in seasons as you so aptly titled it. I like all the layers and the effect of summer on the nearer hill and lingering spring on farther hill. The sky is certainly undecided, which, if this was taken last weekend sure fits the look and feel. The sky was ever changing.

I really like the feel of the sky and the mountian and the contrast between them and the rolling fields.
The flowers in the foreground seem to overpower the shot, the contrast or saturation seems too high for my taste. I also think I might align the background mountian more to the left of its current position. It seems like that would be a better balance to me.

I love the views of Hood from this location, and I don't see many shots from this late in the season so thanks for posting. I'll echo Rick's comments. Maybe the colors in the flowers are plugging? They have a lot of contrast without a lot of detail.
