More Flatirons (sigh)....
My impending trip to Glacier NP and the fact that gas is going to cost an arm & a leg has kept me close to home of late. I'd love to be able to get up to RMNP, but I'm stuck shooting in Boulder instead. The haze from the fires made for some warm light this morning, had there been some clouds it would have been spectacular. Here are a few from this morning...

A little later on....

The flower situation is pretty poor, but there are a few here and there....

Nice stuff, Paul. That last one is gorgeous.

Thanks, Todd. I've been playing around with my Zeiss VS 35-70 as a substitute for a macro lens -- another example...

I like that first one, Paul. Glacier is such a cool area. Hang in there, it'll be worth the sacrificing you're doing now. I definitely hear ya about the gas prices. It's really got me more carefully planning my outiings/trips in order to cut down on costs.

I really like the foreground & composition on the second Flatirons shot.

Have fun in Glacier NP. It's been way too many years since I've ventured that far north. :frown:

#3 is really graceful and would be improved if you could clean up the LRC.

I've never had a very strong attachment towards the flatirons, but the two you've posted are nice.

I feel in the same boat sometimes Paul, but with Garden of the Gods instead of Flatirons. I used a half tank in the jeep to drive from my house to the Horn Creek trailhead near Westcliffe. Hard to take when that is $25-$30 worth of gas. Hang in there for the Glacier trip.

Thanks, guys. I've been looking forward to this trip for about 6 months -- I just have to shoot a wedding in North Dakota first
Gas prices might keep me from crossing over into Canada, but I guess I'll have to wait and see....

Good suggestion Mel, I might have to clone out that bud. As a CSU grad it pains me to spend so much time in Boulder, but its so close to where I live I can't complain.

I'm a Mines grad and feel that same way about that town.

I also like these very much, especially #2 and #3. Thank you for posting.

Very nice Paul, I like #2 ans 3 also agree on the LRC. Yeah, smoke and gas are both keeping me from shooting much. Does afford me time to work on the tronado shots from my little junket with Stan on memorial day though.

Great shots, Paul. The second one is gorgeous. Even thought there are no clouds, it looks like you have some nice side-light.

I like these all, but the comp in #2 really catches my eye. Good luck on your Glacier Trip! I have a road trip to WA state planned for August. I may have to refinance the house to afford the gas!
