This is from a couple weeks ago I was really hoping for some clouds & better light but I can't control the clouds and waking up late interferes with the light. Let me know what you think.

That link worked, but a 1.5 MB file is a pretty slow load.

I really like the angle, I don't like how that tree goes right up the middle and blocks Mt. Meeker though, but of course the subject is the church. I have seen many shots of it, but never from this angle which is nice

The tree is dead so hopefully someday it will be removed so Mt. Meeker would be in clear view.

I have also shot from here before. While I really like the colors in the flowers and water below the chapel, the large tree dissecting the peak behind it does not work for me compositionally. One of the tricky parts in shooting at this location is find the right comp. One of my favorite shots I have seen of it is by Tony Bouchard here:

A few things to note is early light is key for nicer colors. And try going on a day with some clouds in the forecast. Both of which you can't control if you are up there and happen to snap a picture. But with some planning you can increase your odds.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh I love that place! Did you have a chance to wander around the grounds at all? Back behind the church is this lake, well pond, that SCREAMS rural country swimming hole, with the old wooden dock and all...I was lucky enough to shoot it last Autumn under some very onimous weather conditions, you couldn't see Meeker as it was socked in with rain clouds & fog, but dang, it made for awesome atmosphere! Now I am just waiting for those conditions to repeat so I can get up there and shoot it again...it really is a sight to behold under the clouds.
These were done in HDR:

Jim, I can't get to that link, either. Get a 404 error.
