Boston bird
Finally got round to looking at some of the pictures I grabbed during a few days in America for my brother's wedding. Only had a basic lens with me and was restricted to a morning sat buy a pond / reedbed out the back of the motel we were staying at. Despite this there was quite a bit going on and this is the best of the bunch, although I have no idea what it is!

Canon 350D + Sigma 100-300 @ 300mm, f8 for 1/640 @ ISO 400

All comments and identifications welcome

I believe its an Eastern Kingbird, (Tyrannus tyrannus), a type of Flycatcher.

My description says "Kingbirds sit on a tree top or snag with a good view" - which is exactly what you have captured - great stuff.

Nice shot Magnus, a lot of space in this shot, but it looks a bit noisy to start cropping much off. Nice to see a different bird on here, one I've never seen before.
