Pigeon guillemot
Have just got back from 2 weeks in BC, Canada. 10 nights of which were spent helping out biologists on a small and remote island called mandarte, for work experience. found plenty of time for photography especially in the mornings and there's plenty around

plenty more where this came from, so if you can all stomach lots of foreign wildlife,

this here is pigeon guillemot, hence the title, as you can see it's closely related to the black guillemot, very active and charismatic little things they open their mouths like this when they make a high pitched squealing noise

Lovely shot, The pose is nicely caught, and the colours in the rock and background work well.

Cheers,

Dan.

Nice shot, wold have been tempted to crop the majority of the green of the top keeping the 2:3 ratio from the bottom left.

Lovely pose and setting on that rock, the colour in its mouth really draws your attention. Only minor nit is the food protruding: the tiny bit of red there is a tad distracting

That mouth just grabs you ad draws you in, good detail throughout. Well seen and really shows you enjoyed yourself..

Thanks for sharing.

This is lovely. You could try a few different crops. Initially I preferred it with a little less foreground then looked and Tom's idea - that works well too.

Superb shot. I agree athat a bit of the top would improve what is already an excellent image.
That foreground rock is the perfect foil for the dark bird and leads your eye straight to the subject and then the bright red gape tops it off perfectly.
