Just got back from a normal holiday to Cornwall, didn't really go with the intension of doing much photography.
I went spotting at the marzion marsh, and it was amazing as i spotted a bee eater there.
apparently there have been regular sightings in this area. so for anyone who lives in this area, or is heading down this way i would recommend a trip to this RSPB reserve. wish i have had more time.
I didn't have my camera, as usual, but i have some nice snaps of seagulls LOL !!
I need some advise on taking pictures of birds with very white areas. i always seem to get blown highlight, although according to capture NX, only the very tip of the birds head is blown.
I don't know if the D300 has a tendency to overexpose, and perhaps i should remember to dial in some exposure compensation. C&C welcome

Highlights look slightly blown to me particularly around the neck area although you may be able to recover
I find the D300 can run a little hot a times and in the main leave the exposure compensation set to -0.3EV to help. do you use the histogram when you shoot? as this can be a big help

looks a bit hot and a bit big to me too, i think you've put 720 on the shorter side, aside from that a very nice comp and setting
