Smoky Sherman
Yesterday, I hiked Sheridan>Sherman>Gemini>Sherman with my wife and our buddy Tim. The plan was to catch sunrise from Sheridan as it lit up the Sawatch. There was a lot of smoke in the valleys (fires in NoCal and Park County), though and the early light was blocked from hitting the Sawatch. This image shows the orange ball through the smoke layer.

Conditions improved somewhat after sunrise and views were relatively clear. This is Massive from the shoulder of Sheridan on the way to Sherman.

BTW: tundra flowers are blooming everywhere - lots of alpine forget me not.

Nice hike Dave. I too noticed the haze in the air around the Sneffels Range; it was so thick is blocked the last bit of alpenglow.

#1 looks like it could be sweet shot, but whoa that blend needs some help! I like the simplicity of #2.

That's funny, Jack - I really didn't think it was a good shot and agree about the blend. My P'shop coach will be diappointed. Looks like a great candidate for a new episode of "You Suck At Photoshop" eh?

I sure like the perspective of that first one. We'll talk about improving on it.
