Pike (C)
The Perch shot was done with multiple flash positions, but when you think about it, the only light in a lake would be from the top. This Pike shot is an example - lit only by one flash above the tank.n This is not posted as a photo gem but as an example of how things might look in a natural setting. Not a good book selling piccy but as it would be in real life maybe.
But do they want that ??!

For me your example is well done.
The lighting looks very natural. On my monitor
I see a bit of a halo around the fish. Must come
from the glass.

Well mr fish tank man(aliase pond man)may have got the spelling wrong there. I think this is fine and very natural looking.
Is this a recent one John or an oldy?
It looks fine to me, the naturalness of the light makes it... maybes a touch tight on the tail but a long thin subject is always difficult to frame... but I do like this image.
Difficult to find Pike this small-how did you catch it-The lighting works well giving a very natural look but know what you mean about agency requirements
Great excercise John!
I have been trying something similar some time ago but had not used a flash from the top wich might have worked much better as it did in this fine shot!

Major.
John, it depends upon who 'they' are.

I think this is a fantastic shot, the lighting works very well and looks completely natural, I wouldn't have guessed you used a flash at all
Cheers,
Dan.
One from a while back Major The fish was only a few inches long by the way.
I agree Tom- some do but I,ve not met many..
