Just wanted to give y'all a short and quick flower report. They're really coming out now in the higher elevations. Just went up to Upper Lamarck Lake on sat., above North Lake. Everything is soo green and lush compared to last year at this time. A lot of flowers around North Lake, especially just past the walk-in cg. I imagine it's like that everywhere too. Paintbrush, columbine, lupine, etc, etc. Too many that I don't know the names of. Reds, yellows, purples, pinks. Good stuff!

Anyone have a report for Lyell Canyon area, Toulomne? Unfortunately the skeeters are all eagerly awaiting your presence. Bring DEET!!

I attached a little grab shot from Upper Lamarck, 10.9k, handheld. Unfortunately the smoke is back after receding on saturday.

Nice shot. I would like to see more of the image in focus though, or a tighter crop around those two flowers in focus.

Cory,

Pretty darn nice for a "grab shot." :-) Just for grins, you might consider cropping the three on the right and some from the top - just concentrating on the two in focus on the left. But really, this is a lovely Sierra spring image. And with the skies the way they are, you did well to shoot away from all that haze.

And thanks for your report. I hope this bodes well for the Sonora Pass. Can't wait to get up there and do some shooting and relaxing.

I don't have a flower guide handy but the first thing that comes to mind is, shooting stars. just from the way it looks. Not sure if that's correct though. nice find.
