Ruby Beach a couple months back
I was running from the south end up to the north end of the beach to get a shot before the sun disappeared when I noticed this. I really liked the waves and the glow from the sun on them so I set up quickly and shot.

D200, 12-24, CP and a reverse GND

Thanks Jesse. I didnt care for this shot at first, I called it my big sun blob shot. But it kind of grew on me and without the sun a little blown, I wouldnt have had the glow in the water and the foreground would have been way to dark.

Despite the problems, I like this. Comp is great, and your FG is different than we usually see here. The concentric ripples are quite nice, really.

Nice shot Douglas! Way to catch it. I can just envision you on the run, coming to a sudden stop, slamming down the tripod, blam! got the shot. Love those fg ripples!

This is very nice Douglas. My favorite part is the layers of water in the foreground with the light spilling down onto them. It looks like only the red channel is blowing significantly. I don't know if you had to add it back in or if it was there from the original shot, but there is a fair bit of color left in the sun and I think it looks pretty good considering you were shooting straight into it.
