Hello friends,
I have here a general question about your experiences of dogs free running around and dogs are running free accompanied by their owners.
I made the expierience that a nature photographer with a rucksack, a camera in front and a tripod on the shoulders must look for a normal dog very strange. I know that every dog for his owner is a sheep of softness.
But when this creature stands in front of you and barks you away you start thinking different.
This spring I had an expierence that shocked me completly. I was up early in the morning before sunset. I walked through the woods in darkness. Suddenly I have heard a panting directly behind me, I turned around and the dog startet barking full speed and loudness.
This day was done for me.
How do you think about it, Greetings,
Bertl

Hi Bertl,

This kind of thing has happened to me on way to many occasions, mainly in areas where dog's should be on a lead (ie a country park). If the owner is present and does not respond to my calls to get their dog away from barking 6 inches from my face. I stand up and I'm afraid if the dog is not very big it gets a helpful nudge away with my boot in it's chest, which normally upsets the owner about the same amount as the dog barking in my face upsets me.
Don't even get me started on dog's crapping everywhere and their owners not picking it up

Regards

Rob

Rob, what about the ones that do pick it up but choose to hang it in plastic bags in trees and the like !!!

Unfortunately its not really the dogs that are the real problem, I believe it is inconsiderate owners, normally the dog is just doing what a dog does, the owners just seem to have no common sense or any thought for others who wish to enjoy the pleasures of the countryside too, especially when these dogs are allowed to run free in sensitive areas or places where they are explicitly not allowed... Now you have started me ranting Bertl..... I should add that I do realise that the afformentioned owners are in the minority...

Hi Berti,

I agree with all that has been said i have had dogs for the past thirty years, and have never let them run around where other people are.

Dogs mess being left either on the ground or in bags drives me mad.
