Alien Landscape
Took a little drive up to Cathedral Park yesterday. It was cloudy, but i think with the right light it might be an interesting place to shoot--unfortunately all the rocks are on private property. This is about all i could manage, the stream was pointless without any light to work with. Title was taken from a Todd C description in this forum.

Stan, I like what you have here -- I think the clouds and soft light are great, you can really see all of the detail in the rocks. Alien is an apt description

I've been trying to get a decent photo of that place for years. You beat me to it. Love the mood lighting.

The dark clouds really do help bring out the detail in the rocks!. Too bad this is on private property, though you got a great shot still from this spot!.

Pretty cool looking shot Stan. Like the others, I think the clouds helped in making the image work.

Woah that's awesome! I think the light is perfect for this. The clouds are great, and the light brings out all the subtle color gradients and textures in the rocks. Great shot!

Very nice, Stan. I love the color and texture in the rocks.

The title is a great hook, Stan. I just had to look and I'm glad I did. This country reminds me very much of a park I like to climb at: the City of Rocks in southern Idaho. The big diff is your stone is reddish and the CoR is white granite. Nice capture - You got the sky just right.

Thanks, folks! I was a bit on the fence with this one but you've convinced me it's worth keeping

Wow - I don't recall ever seeing anything from here. Very cool shot! I agree with Jack - the lighting conditions really bring out the character of the rocks. Nice work getting separation between most of the formations - gives me the feel that is goes on and on and on....
