Greenshank

I had a great time doing the Brown Bears in Finland but photographing this beautiful bird was really one of the highlights for me. I have always had a thing for the north and northern Waders especially. Birds like Dotterel, Golden Plover, Whimbrel and Greenshank are classic northern birds that I am sure will draw me back time and time again. This is an off duty bird that was feeding around the margins of this small lake, I have heard the alarm call many times before but never because a bear was coming, great stuff

Fantastic colours and light! If these are as noisy as redshanks, they bear would give up.

Seriously though, a nice image matey - I like that smooth water BG a lot and the overall warm tones of the image

I might be tempted to lose a bit of the top would be my only suggestion

It was great to hear that call during the night. Glad you did get some really nice shots.
