Here's a shot of the female Kingfisher who just caught a small fish for her youngsters. The prey is still very small as so are the youngsters who have just hatched.

Another great pic Jeroen (I always feel sorry for the fish though)
The whole thing looks a little how can I say "hard" on my gear but it could be my monitor contrast. No big nit though.
Cheers
John.
Yet another wonderful kingfisher. However, I wonder if my mind or eyes are going. I just posted a comment on John's redstart and mentioned a broad halo around the head. I'm seeing it again here. Is it me? Is it my monitor? Or it is natural?
A very nice image indeed. Clear BKGR, nice size in the frame, good eye contact. I can see the halo that Ian mentions but I think it is just a lighter area in the background. The OOF moss in the foreground, immediately below the bird, bothers me more.
Personally i liked the lighter patch in the BG (wich might look as a halo) as it tends lo lay more emphasis on the head. I too had a problem with the OOF moss but not much you can do about that without getting a less smooth BG..
The only slight negative is the DoF run-out on the closest part of the perch Jeroen - otherwise a really stunning image with extremely sharp detail and a glorious BG - very nice matey
