Took these a little while ago south of town, looking north. Some of the most beautiful bolts I've ever seen. Both images are 3 minute exposures. This one is f11 @ ISO 200.
Wow! ! That first shot is crazy, one of the coolest lightning shots ive seen! I got home too late, after too much beer and poker, so by the time i set up the tripod the storm was too far away.
Sat-Mon should be fairly active, i hope to target at least one of those nights.
Fantastic! I really like the clouds in the first one and the way the bolts appear to be coming down on the string of lights. I like the 2nd one for its impact.
I can struggle just a little with lighting being beautiful, but both of these are in that category. Awesome, but very neat! I can recall a few of your lightning shots, Todd, and these are tops.
Both are awesome, but I LOVE the second! The detail of all the branches is extraordinary and reminds me of those lightning light ball things that you touch. Beautiful!
Both are superb, but the first one with the colorful and patterned clouds, and the lights from the factory (?) is truly one of the best I've ever seen.

Yowsa! Those are spectacular! Love the 1st one, how the lightning disappears behind the layers of clouds and reappears below them, really gives a 3d effect. The pitchfork design of the 2nd is also outstanding. Just don't get caught outstanding in a field while this goes on!
Awesome indeed. That very same night, I was watching the same type of lightning behind a fireworks show here in MT. It was mindblowing. I didn't have a tripod. Glad you did! Again, awesome.
Not usually a fan of man-made lighting in pictures, but I love that first shot! I'm guessing some of that cloud color is city glow, but it's still cool!
Todd, I really like the second one because the shape of the bolt... and the first one because of the layers and colors... great job of exposing these!!! Wonderful job as always!! regards, Rajeev.
